Retrofit cruise control

Featured Replies

Looking to buy an Octavia 2 estate with 1.9 pumpe Duse diesel engine. My 30 something son doesn't want alloys so will go for low spec. Can cruise control be retrofitted? What sort of cost? Could I do it for him?

Any Briskodans know of anything like this for sale? I live near Newmarket, east Anglia.

Yes it can.

The only proviso being that the steering and engine controllers must support it.

Get your car scanned with VCDS (see owners thread on this forum) and check your controller part numbers against the list on the Ross Tech Wiki (although it's not 100% accurate. e.g. 'BC' controllers may support CC.

I bought a second hand stalk for £25 from another Briskodian then fitted and coded it myself. That's on a 2007 2.0 litre PD Octavia.

Took about 2 hours all in (an hour was letting the static discharge between disconnecting battery and removing airbag) and I'm no mechanic. With a bit of knowledge and experience that could easily go below an hour.

A trawl across the net should find you one, if you don't want to buy new.

Eddie NL from here is a bit of a wizz at the electronics and VCDS, and is in Gt Yaremouth I believe.

Here's a utube

Depending on the year of the car, it may need one stalk or both replacing.  The latter unit is considerably more expensive.

I'm In Great Yarmouth and have stalks available

Eddie , you going to be up in Scotland anytime soon ? Or Sunderland way ?
