9500 revs

Featured Replies

Quick question.

Normally when stationary my Rapid sits at 7.5k revs, but very occasionally sits at 9.5k revs when idling.

Is this normal and why ?

Thanks

Is it on pre start, or do you have the aircon running when it is on 9.5

Errr,, think that will be 750 - 950 RPM?

No not aircon related, not sure what you mean by pre start ?

Is it a TDI, if so then likely the DPF is regenerating (cleaning itself).

TP

Yeh normal on TSI too. Outside Temperature makes it do it... Cold Engine Temp makes it do it.... Aircon makes it do it... Still moving makes it do it...

From what I can gather its an anti-stall thingy mabob.

My dpf does this about every month thereabouts. I give it 10 mins at 50 in forth and it goes away.

Fabia Elegance 1.6tdi.

I have to say, I looked at the topic title and was a little intrigued...not known a Skoda to rev to 9,500 revs!!

Now you know why it's called a Rapid. :)

I was thinking the same , 9500rpm, my rapid has turned into an rx8

Never tried to redline the rapid 1.4 TSI DSG yet,, wife said that she mistakenly putit into DSG sports mode and it certainly zipped along the whole of the journey from Bathgate to Perth! (not sure how the mpg will look after that??? ;<) Good to have a blast now and then!!!!
