Monte Carlo engine

Featured Replies

Hi guys, I have a 62 plate Monte Carlo 1.2 tsi. I believe skoda produced 2 versions of this engine, one with 86 bhp and one with 105 bhp. I have the 86 version, is there any way of using a computer to bump it up to 105? I'm not keen on a remap but I imagine that, because they are the same engine, it should be relatively easy to get the bhp up. Can anyone help? Cheers guys

A remap is exactly "using a computer to bump it up"

Does the Revo stop at 105 or does it go on to the full fat figures?

Also I assume it would still be considered a remap for warranty and insurance purposes.

Have read a few times that these are the self same engines running different maps. Intriguing

Yes I realise that's what a remap is but I mean using software that would just effectively trick the engine in to thinking it's the 105 engine if that makes sense. If I had it remapped, the results wouldn't be predictable.

Thanks I'll check that post out now :)

They are the same engine, much the same as the 1.6 CR CAY (a,b or c) is the same. Just the software that changes.

The map is going to be taking it beyond 105 ps when done on the 86 ps one, to the same power as the 105 ps remapped.

It will Void the Skoda Warranty on the Engine, if to 105 ps or above.

Unless Skoda are doing an Approved Powered Upped, & they are not.

You can Fit a TMC Tuning Box to the 1.2 TSI 86 ps engine.

You would need to reflash the 85 ECU with the 105 information.
