ASR Switch

Featured Replies

Excuse my ignorance but I have just bought a 52 plate Fabia Comfort Estate 1.4 and there is a switch next to the heated rear window switch that has the letters ASR on it. According to the manual this should be TC/ESP.

So what is it?

It does not appear to do anything.

Asr is anti slip regulator.

If the wheels spin in wet/slippy conditions it restricts power fed to the wheels.

Pushing it switches asr off and a light should come on in the instrument cluster so you know its off.

Basically Only Turn ASR off in the snow, or really bad rain conditions, helps you pull out of slippy situations where you might need the wheels to spin a little to get going, for the most part leave it on, its on by default, turning it off turns a warning light on your dash on, its like a reverse form of traction control.

Thanks guys, did not see any warning on the instrument panel, maybe I need to check another fuse, had to fix a few electrical problems so far - all minor. Good value car for £500 due to the issues, Only cost me £144 to sort them all out :)
