Wiring diagram needed mk1 octy

Featured Replies

Hi all, Im in need of a wiring diagram for the mk1 octy 2002 vrs

Looking for diagram to include indicators and hazard switch

If anyone able to send me a copy I would be greatfull as cant find much on the net

Thanks in advance

Haynes manuals have some in the back. I have a mk2 manual but perhaps someone with a mk1 can post a copy of the relevant page. Perhaps post in the mk1 section or failing that they can be had on eBay for a tenner or so...

The haynes mk1 manual wiring diagrams are patchy and do not cover everything fitted to the car, you would be better to buy an hour or two on the electronic elsawin site at vw and save what you want as pdfs.

Not much to it really. The hazard unit (of which the switch is part) does it all. There are 2 fuses - F2 and F39. What problem do you have?

Thanks for all your replies.

Ive heard the haynes is patchy and dont want to waste money to find the diagram dissapointing.

Its nothing urgent, just wanted to have a look into the hazard switch operation and see if uts possible to have the front indicators on solid but still flash when needed simalar to US spec cars. Ive managed to get hold of a mk4 golf diagram which I imagine will be simalar but abviously not the same. Seems I will only require 1 or 2 relays, but would perfer the actual diagram to make sure I dont waste any time on it

Thanks again

Anybody?

Could a mod please move this thread to octavia I

The indicator stalk connects either the LH indicators or the RH indicators to pin 1 of the flasher unit. This causes the voltage at pin 1 to switch on and off. It needs to 'see' all 3 bulbs to flash at the correct rate.
