Hi,

 

Last week I ordered from ebay this:

Its for what I was led to believe a full LUK replacement kit for my car.

 

I actually received everything LUK apart from the Slave bearing, which was Sachs. I was told that they are interchangeable... ???

 

The VW specialist garage fitted it today, but they advised that now, the biting point is so low down, that the car clunks into gear, especially reverse which is almost impossible.

 

Is this due to this slave bearing being a sachs but the DMF and clutch kit being a LUK?

 

 

It turns out that the car originally had a Sachs kit in from the factory.

 

I have bought another kit from the ebay seller and specifically asked for a LUK slave bearing, which they then told me I had to pay extra for!

 

I want to make sure that the new clutch etc is ok and not faulty.

 

Hopefully it will be here tomorrow so the garage can fit it and let me have the car back...

 

In the meantime, I am careless...

 

Any advice will be most gratefully received.

If it only required a new CSC, why did you buy the whole lot again?

 

Personally I'd never buy anything from Techniclutch. You only have to Google their name to see why.

 

Will they accept them back?

The garage said its possible the clutch was faulty, so as a precaution, to get another full set.

 

They could not be sure what was at fault, but the CSC being a different brand could also be a possibility....

 

If this fails, I think I will look into carpartsforless...

 

I could swear that when I tried adding it up on their site a couple weeks abo, it came out at £400+ (Maybe I was wrong)

I just used a reg for a 2.0 TDI Octavia on Auto Trader.

 

Even without the discount they're cheaper, and you know the parts are genuine.

£180 each time... They told me it took them 5 hours to do...

update:...

 

The replacement from techniclutch arrived today.

 

Took to the garage and they confirmed the clutch was remanufactured.

 

We decided that it be best not to fit these, so went to ECP and paid £430 for genuine Sachs. (I would have ordered from carparts4less but needed the parts immediately so I can get my car back today.

 

Not to sort out the refunds from techniclutch....
