pd130 blt egr gasket mod

Featured Replies

hi folks

fitted the 9mm gasket (drilled out to 11mm) to my ibiza fr today but i fitted it in the easy location by the airbox. ive since read that it should be fitted at the manifold end instead. its definitely improved the part throttle stutter and no eml yet!

does it really matter which location its fitted in? can soon get another gasket if so, would rather it was done right.

also planning on using vcds to turn the egr flow down when i get my cable back from my mate so hopefully that will make it better still.

cheers

It shouldn't make a difference.

When it becomes important is when the EGR system is deleted and/or removed. Where it needs to be on the manifold end.

11mm is about right, when mine was the standard 9mm I used to occasionally get a fault light for EGR flow. I then drilled it out to 11mm and the fault light hasn't returned since (about 1.5 yrs ago). Mine is fitted near the airbox, it's at the connection just below black ducting pipe that connects to the airbox.
