vRS - improved availability?

Featured Replies

I ordered a vRS about a month ago (mid-June) and was told it would be mid-September before delivery, which I expected might end up being November because of the much-discussed delays in vRS production. I phoned the dealer today to see how things were going and he told me the car was scheduled to be built next week (!) and would most likely be available to pick up in 3-4 weeks, allowing for shipping. He was as surprised as I was - he told me that it seems Skoda are pushing a batch of RHD vRSs along the line to clear the backlog, so anyone else who has one on order might get lucky too :-)

Looking forward to being a Skoda owner sooner than I expected! :)

Given my vRS just got bumped from week 29 to 35 not sure how that equates to pushing a batch! I was told the power tailgate and 19 inch rims may have been the issue though (some supply problem) - what's your full spec?

Someone probably cancelled a car with the spec of the car you ordered

Perhaps, I guess. But the dealer did specifically they were pushing a batch through. Just reporting what I was told :-)

I ordered 18th June and have a build week of 36 which seems to have stabilised but not locked in at status 20 yet. Regular log ins to trackmyskoda.com are continuing... I'm half expecting it to change to something in the high 40s but reading your thread I'm keeping my fingers crossed !!

Ordered my Elegance 2.00 tdi dsg on 8th june now given week 31 status 20. WOW hope ok????

I've checked on this a couple of times and there have been a small handful of stock RS' available, varying specs etc and the lead times have come down a bit BUT when you've got a customer who has waited 6 months, is still waiting but if you are flexible can have a car within 4 weeks it doesn't make sense. If they found earlier build slots for these why not give these to the customers who have waited an eternity and have part exchanges that are not increasing in value - but I'm not affected

My order was accepted by the factory on the 23rd of May and I still don't have a build date. I provisionally had week 40 then 29 and back to 40 now I don't even have a build week. Skoda UK have said they will call me once a week with an update u till the car is built and delivered and have been given a point of contact at skoda Customer services.

I won't mention that after moaning about being bumped from 29 to 35 Skoda are putting us in an all expenses paid (bar fuel) courtesy car from this weekend until whenever it turns up... Might be worth a shot chatting with CS Allan... I did order mid Feb tho so been waiting a bit longer than you.

I ordered 16th Dec and is code 20 for next week. A 7month wait from order to build. Probably 8months until I get it

At least a it's code 20! Mine was code 10 in week 28 for build 29 and lost the week. I'll be a similar wait by the time it arrives, it's a long time but should be worth it!

Anyone know how we can get the status code without going to the dealer or Skoda UK

You have to go to the dealer or Skoda UK unless you happen to have ordered from one of the three dealers (Bickerton/Rainworth/Vision) who run the trackmyskoda website.

many thanks thought so, pity though it would have helped a lot

A transporter driver friend of mine based in Czech has noticed a significant increase, since May, in the amount of Octavia rolling off the line, so maybe production problems should be easing somewhat now!

VRS TDI Combi - Ordered 18th December, delivery confirmed for 29th July.

I checked back with the dealer yesterday, the car was built when they said it would be and was in transit to whichever port Skoda use to ship them out to the UK, I forget which. Depending on exactly when it gets on a boat, when a transporter is availabl etc it should be at the dealers within 1-2 weeks.

The inconsistency with the lead times is wierd. I ordered mine (via Lex) on March 20th and it arrived at the dealer on 18th July. Delivered to me taxed & registered on 5th August so thats only 4 months form the order to dealer delivery. I kept it simple with the options tho - Meteor grey, black pack, anthracite gemini, sunset glass, cruise and bluetooth phone prep.

Talking to my dealer, I mentioned lead times (I want to know when to order mine so I get the latest plate).

I suggested I might need to order mine earlier because of a fairly comprehensive spec and he smiled and asked me why I thought that.

He then went on to say there is no issue with the parts necessary in the manufacturing process so there shouldn't be a significant difference in lead time between a basic spec one and one that's fully loaded.

He reckoned four to five months tops from order to the owner collecting.

In oz, Adding a "tech pack" (Xenons, ACC, Sensors, auto park thing, KESSY, Canton, High Beam assist, Light assist, auto wipers) almost doubles the wait time. Skoda aus advise due to restricted part availability on ACC and sensors.

I ordered in May for what is effectively a SE spec with the above options (and a pano roof) and still dont even have a build date. If you dont take the "tech pack" order to delivery can be 4-5 months. Mines looking (at this stage) 6 month minimum! RS is even longer than that for us (6-8 months). We do pay very cheap prices here though for some reason (mine was 17.6K pound with a full year of rego/tax etc) - our VAG group cars are priced competitively with the UK. Every other brand (except jap/korean) is crazy expensive (BMW/MERC etc) though.....

Its good to see that you guys are getting reduced wait times. I wish it would flow on to the rest of the world though! (and dont count on quick delivery if you order ACC, Sensors, Pano roof or estate....)

Car arrived at dealers on Monday, will be picking it up next Wednesday. Now just have to decide if I can justify buying a copy of VCDS :-)
