MK4 black carpet

Featured Replies

I know this has been covered here before but I just need a quick confirm that this carpet would fit my car. It states it will fit the VW Golf Mk4 and Bora.

It comes without the left foot footrest so will the footrest from the original carpet fit?

I'm mainly asking you who've done this and know the fitment procedure and can spot if it fits.

Note: I have the LHD version so to not confuse anyone.

The leftfoot rest fits fine on RHD so it should also fit on LHD

Thanks!

I see now I was a bit unclear with my question. Will the carpet itself fit?

Straight swap, on mine i had to cut the carpet under dash, there is bracket connected from the dash to centre tunnel, centre console hides the cut and makes fitting a lot easier.

Thanks mate.

I've read the DIY guides for this and also about cutting the carpet there. Why wouldn't you - right? Seems it will save a ton of work.

Will get the carpet for 70 euro delivered to Sweden from Germany so for me it's a good deal.

OT: Has anyone on here retrimmed the white doorcards? I'm fed up with them and would like to go at least dark grey alcantara. Is it a DIY or a pro-job?

Someone did spray door card cloth matt black just recently, waiting on a update to see if it last.

They can be removed apparently. Someone fitted leather ones a while ago. He melted the plastic tabs off that hold them in place. Tbh they dont really bother me they are easy enough to clean. The carpet got on my ts though!!

The material almost feel like nylon. I know nylon can't be spray painted since the color is woven in during production. But this will be interesting to see if it works. Give me a shout when you hear if it worked.

Yeah I saw the tabs when I removed the door cards, didn't think of melting them away.

I borrowed my neighbors Puzzi 100 carpet cleaner and got the seats and door cards spotless. But what bugs me is that they're so easy to stain and you need to watch your fingers and a** all the time. When you work on the car you can't sit on the seats or touch anything or it will be oil stained and messy. At least with black trim I can't see the ****. I like the newer vRS seats better.

Yeah the carpet is a nightmare to clean. Can't wait to have the black one fitted.

It was me who sprayed the door cards Matt black and so far so good!

Yeah if you search on briskoda or google 'octavia vRS Matt black door cards' it should be one of the first results.
