Silencing the Critics

Featured Replies

Nothing silences them more than few inhalations of my mk2 Fabia vRS exhaust gases when they are trying their damnest to stay ahead of me and fail miserably. I can tell by the amounts of black smoke belching form their 4 times as expensive cars and terminaly constipated look on their faces.

Some however give me massive thumbs up and enourmous grin, like Lotus Exige S driver on Sunday evening, excellent fun!

Four times as expensive is around £72,000 isn't it?

What kind of half decent £72k car is going to get shown up by a mk2 Skoda Fabia VRS?

You sir, are an idiot.

Take a step back from your weapon of choice, (I guess it's a PC in your Mum's house??)

Take a little read of this thread and digest what it is actually about. It's not about how Skoda's are better cars. It's not about how Smart we are either. Although I did get a 9 letter word in Countdown once.... Just saying.... Sorry I'm digressing.

It's about how ignorant people, like yourself, think that the cliche around Skoda still exists and that they are rubbish cars.

So actually, thank you. Thank you for proving the point.

I think you proved mine actually.

I've had a couple of octavia. They are a fine car.

There is however a certain type of member who seems to think people are looking down on their car when they are not.

That hasn't been the case for about 10 years back when I had the mk1.

Then you get the fantasy of racing a more expensive car and wining "like a king".

I get it all the time in the company car and to paraphrase wardy from years back...

"It's amazing how many races you win when you're the only one racing"

People need to just get on and enjoy their car and stop thinking people are critics.

Some forum members are always slagging off ford, vauxhall and BMW. Do you think their drivers care?

Don't forget Audi too :notme:

Nope,

I don't see how I proved your point at all.

Do continue.....

Oh and no, it's a mac at your mum's house!

Seriously!?!?

seriously the boot and wood chipper posts are funny.

However the sooner people realise nobody that matters in life is looking down on your skoda the better.

It's a big chip on people's shoulders and paranoia.

There is no way a mk2 vRS will beat an exige s, just like the mk 1 vRS couldn't beat an m3

Having been in an Exige I'd say there's a huge performance difference and would agree on that part of the. Statement :)

I guess we are 1-1 on the non-helpful contributions to the thread now.

Ok good so just chill out, I'm not digging at you.

I've seen many years of I raced, this BMW driver said my car was crap.

I got raced by an i10 on the a34. I was on cruise at the time but the driver was happy bombing past down the hill and falling back up.

The driver was chuffed with himself at the services.

I didn't care!

You see the point I was getting at? It doesn't matter what others think and they are probably not thinking what some members think.

I do see your point, it's the way it was initially worded.....

I apologise for getting my back up, serves me right for posting before my morning Coffee!

I bought mine new for £15k so it is £60k if anything - sorry, I am no accountant and prone to a little bit of exaggeration when environment conducive. Twice-three times as expensive would be closer to the mark :)

maybe he was $hit at changing his gears? Maybe his one was all clogged up because he never booted it in anger and volumetric efficiency was shot due to intake ports all clogged up with carbonaceous deposits? Maybe it was not and Exige S (Sunday evening) but an Exige ? Fact is he was not able to get away from me despite trying on three occasions and I never said I beat him, I said we had great fun and he was extremely surprised that a Skoda can keep up with his road legal race car half the weight (exaggeration alert!!) of vrs - hence big grin and thumbs up from him.

Small pleasures in life I choose to take as they come and enjoy them.

I do not however appreciate "pathetic" statements here - no need for that kind of party pooping at all.

It is time and time again proved fact that majority of drivers of much more expensive cars theoretically much faster on paper find themselves rather surprised having to inhale my exhaust fumes - that brings a smile on my face and I enjoy it. People who consider Skoda inferior compared to say VW are simply ignorant. Skoda being the newest addition to VAG has the newest tooling and the most modern fabs producing much better quality cars than old rickety VW fabs not mention ancient Audi museums. Friend of mine when he was doing due diligence of VAG factories in EU for investors went to all of them and was stunned with the differences he found on the ground.

Most of the time it's not what you've got it's how you drive it in my experience! I know a 70 year old with a Porsche, it's probably never been above 50mph to which a Fabia vRS would quite happily beat that with his driving style

When my octavia rolls people move out of my way as if i were a cop car on yhe chase or a crip rinning down the street bustin caps, homies k ow hiw i roll and they know not to mess or diss my ride or they get tanked down buy the mighty power of the k03s spinning up fast and furious stylee waaaaaaaaaaaa patshh brrrrraaaap!

Exactly like that.

How dare you post something like that on Skoda forum.

Anyway, fact is:

Racing driver + Skoda > Other driver + Very fast car being driven sensibly.
