Why do you think you need the Off-Road button? What sort of off-road work are you envisaging doing?   And no it cannot be retro-fitted. i asked when I got mine from a reputable sensible dealer.

The "Rough Road Package" can be ordered on any Yeti, 2 or 4 wheel drive, and would probably be the most useful thing for you. You could probably order the parts for retro-fitting but it wouldn't be ch

  • The running boards are a dealer fit accessory I believe.  Have a look here - some mixed reviews.  If they are the Skoda ones, they do reduce ground clearance for little ultimate benefit.   What do y

That makes sense (the Superb 170 has 312’s)

I could have sworn I saw it on here that they were only 288mm, happy that I’m wrong on that.

Does the 1.8 Tsi have 312mm front brakes? Or is it just the 170CR?

It's only the 170 that has the 312mm.

Missed out on a CR170 which was almost fully loaded with 54,000 miles when it dropped from £15,500 to £14,000.

Was local and in good condition but snapped up at the lower price!

Also seen a 1.8 Tsi for £10,500 with lots of toys which, with a £3,500+ price differential does take the sting out of the higher tax & lower fuel economy...

Still, I'll keep looking a the right CR170 (L&K preferably because I like the alloys and will fit a Columbus anyway).

The L&K is a fairly recent introduction, so you might be waiting a while :(

Seen several with very low mileage (under 15,000) for around £20,000, so out of my budget at present.

As I'm in no rush, I hope that the prices will continue to fall now the FL is out and, by the time I find the right one, I will be able to have one. If not, I'll retro fit the Columbus (I have one at present), antenna and front sensors to an Elegance if necessary. I'd just rather not be modifying a car and going through the insurance every year as I do at present.

Out of curiosity, how are sellers willing to accept payment or buyers willing to pay on eg a £14K private sale?

Well I am sorry to say that after 8500 miles over two and half years, (not a lot) I love my diesel 140 Elegance, but I am going to trade it in before it's to late as the  the 'Telegraph' have said that

we all have been misled for owning a diesel, I can see the trade values of diesel cars will drop like a brick.  It just maybe that a lot towns will charge extra for diesel vehicles to enter the centers of towns and so on. So I hope to get a petrol Yeti the sooner the better. I have been following this problem over the last four months.

I hope Skoda will look at this problem before the the revised Yeti is released for sale in 2015. I don't think car manufactures have got engines to solve the problem, Nissen have with the

they Euro type 6 engine.

I've seen the thread on here about that, but as I live in a rural location and rarely need to go in to 'cities' (Hereford die sent really count IMO) I feel that a diesel will be preferable over a petrol.

Not sure what you think Skoda should do about it as it's a UK problem and down to the choice made by the individual buyer.

Yes I agree with you, but this is going to be a Euro problem I think as the EEC are looking into members who have not complied with cutting the emissions from Diesel engines.

Have checked a few stickers out so far but none seem to have 'Off road pack' listed as a factory extra.

There is a '2UB = Rough-road design' but this appears to relate to the 'Off-road button' as opposed to the extra protection.

I've seen a nice '59 plate Yeti which I'm enquiring about, but I've heard a few potential issues with early Yeti's but nothing concrete. Is this unfounded or something to consider?
