also does anyone know how to open the star shaped screws at the end of the door:

Those star screws hold the door mechinism in place that you can see between them.

What are you trying to do with them?

I am trying to completely remove the grey panel behind the plastic door panel but the door lock module is connected to it

You don't need to remove the whole door carrier! Just remove the large rubber grommet and wind the window down you can do it that way! But a couple though it's a fiddly job and pain if you push them all the way through....I speak from experience!

ok I managed to find the dowel/pin in the door just need put in correctly
