Small White 3 pin Drivers Door Lock Plug required,Please?

Featured Replies

Hi,

further to my post on the 18th inst.I intended to put the fact that the lock is a non Electric Window Winding type, and has two wires in a small white 3 pin female plug. I phoned a local breaker, and they wanted 'about £10 for the part' .There must be quite a few Fabia Doors around with this plug inside?

I must have answered 200 problems on this forum mostly Electrical. If you think you have the part ,please let me know

thanks

What year/engine/trim is the car? What colour are the wires?

Hi,

the car is a year 2000,1.9sdi,classic hatchback, with manual window winding, and no central locking. The plug is   white,3 pin, with two brown wires.Other versions have up to 8 wires. A plug with short cables would be OK,I would join it two my cable.I have attached two  pictures. My plug has one locking lug broken off

thanks

I believe very few cars will have the same loom (there are so many varients). I suspect the part number for the shell is 1J0973117, however, the parts catalogue list it as 2-pin. It may be that there is no centre position so it will still fit. They are about £3.

If it were me, I'd break the other lug off so it sits correctly and use sealant (or even glue) to hold it in.

I assume one of the wires has yellow stripe.

Hi,

thanks for taking the time to reply, with very useful information. I want to get another plug with a cable attached. I could the join it to my cable, that would make the whole cable longer, giving less stress on the cable ,when the carrier plate is taken off.Why Skoda  made the original so short ,i will never know! You are correct ,one brown has a yellow stripe.

If you can get a shell, then you can buy what is known as a 'repair wire'. They are 1m long and have the connector insert on both ends. Cut one in half and push the insert ends in the shell until they click.
