I see they are still saying no vRS... for christ sake we are the best market for hot hatches!

meh. happy to keep my car , they just wont get any more money from me, the tuning companies will! lol..

What early arrival do they speak of,  Auto Express have been telling us for 'long time mister',  about the Fabia Mk2 Replacement,

& it was all wrong.

& Skoda tell us how well the Sporty Look models without performance sell, yet in the UK the Rally Inspired Monte Carlo has sold about

6,000, which is double the number of vRS they sold.

Yet Fabias first registered just last year in the UK were around 32,000, which was 40% of all Skodas first registered in the UK.

I say 'First Registered' because many of the UK cars are sold as Used after being Demonstrators or Pre-Registered.

Skoda think they are Kings of Spin, & Auto Express is the Disc Jockey.  Things have moved on though, the Internet is Emperor and can show the

real world rather than their Media Hype.

It wouldnt surprise me of this eventually gets the 150hp ACT 1.4 engine as its halo model; they may well badge it vRS?

  • 2 weeks later...

Sales and Marketing (CEO) have lost the plot at Skoda

Designing and providing cars for the retirement or first time new car buyer market .

Completely ignoring the pent up market for a Fabia vRS /vRD ,where the enthusiasts desperately want a flagship model in this sector.

Unfortunately it was engineering issues that saw the demise of Fabia vRS MK2 SALES in the UK .

Nothing to do with the lack of punters!

Do the Journalists or Editors know nothing about Current models,

Why would someone write, 'the application of bigger sills and rear spoilers that would previously have be the preserve of the ranch-topping vRS.'

The vRS currently has the same sills as other Fabia Mk2, but does have a rear spolier,

and the Monte Carlo has Sill Covers and a rear spoiler.

Not on the Mk2 which I assume has lead Skoda to believe no one is that keen on a small hot hatch anymore, and a luke warm one is good enough.

There are no Luke Warm ones there in the Skoda Fabia MK2 replacements if it is to be 110Ps Diesels,  that is Tepid.

The smaller 3 or 5 doors & Estates that are Luke Warm and Hot ones will have to be from Seat, VW & Audi it appears.

122 ps choice from the not so cheap Rapids are not an option at the price they are if Skoda can not be bothered to put some decent suspension on them.

but it outsold both the polo GTI and the ibiza FR....

Rule no.1,never upstage VW sales if you want to return in the next incarnation

The VRS rubbish is just simple PR talk, Remember Peugeot canning the GTI badge, oh no a massive comeback, Remember Honda saying no more Type R Civic's, Oh no a a massive comeback and promised Ring lap record, Remember VW binning the GTI badge after Mk4 and saying it was now a trim level, oh no the Mk5 brought it back and finally remember Mitsubishi threatening a diesel Evo every model after the 6, like that ever happened and they still are pumping out the sat of the petrol Evo's

Its all for the PR machine, end of day the Halo model never sells much, but it provides the template for all the lower models.

So i'm in no doubt that come 2016/17 we will have another VRS Fabia.
