Brake fade... on a motorway? How?

Them discs are only cheap so do you not find they warp or u get any brake shudder? My front discs cost £100 an they are crap they are delphi a an I got them from S c motor factors was this just a bad choice on my part??

Thanks

No problems at all, like I say, I've tried all the grooved and drilled stuff in the past and I get the best results with just plain old discs

Is it just me? I don't understand how you can get brake fade on a motorway? You shouldn't be braking that long that you are putting the heat into your brake fluid. the pads and discs should operate at enormous temperatures. (even standard cheapo road spec)

Are you sure you don't have a sticky caliper? Could be a rear? Same fluid.

Change out the fluid for some ATE blue or get RBF600. I use the RBF in my track car and it can take a punishment.

The other thing which gets me is why are you braking on a motorway? Shouldn't need to use your brakes if you are driving properly.

Avoid green stuff pads. One of my rear pads came away from the backing while I was slowing down from 60, which resulted in a loss of braking pressure. A few pumps and I got the pedal back, but could have been worse

Brake fade... on a motorway? How?

Like I say when I get on the motorway im heavy footed I'll give it a boot up to about 110mph then when I get up behind someone say a couple of miles down the motorway I apply the brakes this is when I get the most fade push the pedal an it just goes hard, so could this be my pads or fluid I have halfords 5.1 which they say is a performance fluid but I don't have the best of knowledge which is why I have this thread, so I'm thinking maybe going for the ds2500 do u think I should upgrade my fluid or would the halfords one be ok?

Thanks

I think you may have another issue than discs, pads or fluid if the pedal goes hard. Fade is when the pedal goes soft and long.

Yeah your right sorry u have explained it a bit better then what I have, so is brake fade due to the pads or discs or fluid or can it be more then one of these?

Thanks

Avoid ebc pads they fall to bits. The ds2500 is a great pad for road even from cold. And just get better when warmed up. By far the best brake pads iv ever had. Don't come cheap tho. About £150

Can be any of the 3 you have stated. Get some ds2500 pads, pagid discs and ate super blue brake fluid. Job done. Providing everything else is fine.

Yea so far so good. No fade issues on track as yet.

Jeez, how old were the pads? EBC pads have apparently improved a lot. They have invested a lot in their design.

Under 2 years old! Loads of life in the pad too, which is the worst bit
