Just picked up a vrs

Featured Replies

And im slightly worried about a few things.

I did a mycar check and it came back not stolen/write off etc etc so i bought the car.

I then went to take the v5 to the postoffice to tax to be told a bunch of the blue v5's were stolen (mine is blue), so i got another hpi with the aa and it came back clear still apart from the v5 issue date doesent match the dvla. Could this mean the car is stolen? The document reference number isent in the range of stolen ones but ive heard that all blue ones should have been replaced????? The vehicle vin matches the v5 and thiers no other discrepencies.

Also it never appeared on the test drive but on the way home something started squeeling when i had the steering wheel set to a very slight right, after about 10 mins it quitened down and you could barely hear it, its only just had a mot what could it be??

Welcome to the forum.

Picked up a car from where, bought from who?

Red replacement V5's were sent out to replace Blue ones.

So who sold you the car,

& what checks on them did you do,  their Id, their Address, who was the Registered Keeper on the V5.

Any Fraud or Theft Worries you check with your Local Police.

Any Concerns over MOT's not being Legit you check with VOSA.

& once you are happy with the car being legit, check faults with a competent Home or Professional Mechanic.

Best not start work on the car until you know if you own it.

i bought it from a garage, the registered keeper was from down south.

If it is from a Legit Garage then you have all the Comeback you require.

They should have had it as 'In Trade' with the DVLA.

You have the Law & Trading Standards to make sure things are done legally.

How long since it was on the Road & Taxed,

and how many previous owners show on the V5 they gave you?

just the one owner from new, its a legit garage but not part of a trading association. Erm tax expired november last year, i just re taxed today, so it the blue v5 still legal?
