'Control system for exhaust' light intermittent

Featured Replies

I've had this light come on a few times now, but the fault has cleared for a while, then come back

It was clear on Saturday morning, I drove a reasonably rapid 95 miles, mainly on dual carriageway, to visit the Vulcan at Wellesbourne

Within a few miles of setting off to return, the light came on again, and it limits the performance of the engine, such that if the speed crept up into high 70s (indicated), a vibration could be felt in the engine

I have never had the DPF indicator light come on, so I'm hoping that the DPF itself is OK (the car is just approaching 39k miles on a 58 plate)

Tonight I did a VCDS check and it showed the following:-

Question:-

Has anyone had anything similar occur, and, if so, what was the outcome?

Any assistance would be gratefully received

Dodgy sensor.

You can check the ash level in the dpf, but at 38k it should be fine.

So probably still a bit pricey, but nowhere near the cost of a DPF

Not sure on the actual cost but I'm sure its on here somewhere. The new one needs to be adapted with VCDS when it is put in, otherwise it all goes pear shaped.
