Air vents, chrome surround.

Featured Replies

Hi all,

My farther in law has just bought a 1.4 dsg Elegance,

Have to say its a very nice car with lots of nice kit.

The only problem is the reflection of the Chrome surrond in the side windows, has anyone else noticed this?

Also will the trim just pop out or is it connected to the vents, as I was thinking of taking the trim off and wrapping it black.

It's a well documented issue and as such there is no easy answer.

I find that by concentrating on driving, you notice it less and less.

I can see the reflection but it's a none issues, doesn't distract one bit, just look through it and you don't even notice it.

Yep I was angry with this from the start, but now after 10k km it is barely noticable.

Agreed. I had read about this on here before I picked up my car, driving home I thought this is really going to 'P' me off... 1600 mls later I'd forgotten about it until reading this thread.

never noticed it really

Never noticed it either...

I'll be looking out for this now when I get my car!

Don't it's a none issue.

I nearly got blinded by mine the other day as the sun was shining at just the right angle

And at night the headlight switch reflects in the passenger window, just in line with the wing mirrors. Then again, it did on the MkII  as well. Not worth losing sleep over.

Not really noticed that one yet, only driven it a couple times in the dark, looking forward to the dark to see what the xenons are like
