At least your car is an awful lot cleaner than the inside of your garage Simbo! :x

The video quality may not be up to the standards of the GoPro's etc but I think it's worth a lot more than a tenner.

Can you see the number plates though when you freeze frame ? As this is what's needed for any accidents , that's the one I got before I agree just tat though ;) the image on the PC was dire , however this one from lidl is bloody marvellous

What does invalid parameters mean on your video

  • Author

Yeah, you can see number plates on the original footage - in reasonable daylight with the sun in the right direction & if there's a good south westerly breeze! ;)

I'm not complaining for the price I paid. I am considering a different one. Maybe a Nextbase or Mobius.

Like I say, for a tenner... Better than nothing. I am the epitome of cheapskate Yorkshireman! :D

Not sure what you mean about parameters? It plays ok for me in the browser on PC & phone + in the YouTube app on my phone.

Just get mobious they are awesome ! I've got one on the golf amazing quality !

The problem with the Chinese ones on ebay is that you dont know who made them; there are literally MILLIONS of little back street workshops churning out fake cams, some are good, some are bad and some are deliberately non functional.

Just because you buy a good one from a bayer doesnt mean the next batch he gets will be any good; I had this happen myself, very happy with two bulk deliveries from a supplier, the third was completely different stock and nothing like as good as the first two orders.

If I want to risk buying Chinese tat, I buy direct; I have gotten quite good at getting refunds if the stuff is duff; I have a pile of fake SD cards, USB drives and mp3 players sat on my desk that I have had full refunds for, that I can reformat (possibly - if I can read the Chinese instructions on the firmware program) and actually sell on with genuine capacities.

Best place for micro sd 32g

It take it that was supposed to be sarcasm??

Every single 32/64Gb microSD card I have ordered from AliExpress this year has been a fake - even when ordered from supposedly top ranking suppliers with 100's of 1,000's of sales and 100% feedback. The best have been 8GB cards and the worst 664MB

Ian :D no ! No sarcasm intended an honest question :)

Ok, the lack of a question mark had me confused.

The answer is - buy one in the UK from Amazon or high street retailer and test it carefully with h2testw.exe, a free program that will test the card and give you the correct capacity and speed rating.

(It does take a while though).

The price will be higher, but you stand as much better chance of getting the real thing.

BTW, I bought some cheap "no names" ones from 7DayShop, the capacity was correct, but the first two failed within hours and the third is now read only - the plastics used are too soft and the write protect tab disintegrated.

Thanks I will purchase in store

If you get one from Amazon itself or fulfilled by Amazon you won't have any problems.

The dash cam I had took great pictures but the charger interfered with the radio so it had to go back. That was fulfilled by Amazon and although it took a bit of figuring out how to return (Amazon doesn't make it that easy) but they took it back and the refund was prompt.

Haha! Just seen this thread...

Yeah mine's just cheap, Chinese tat. Still, for a tenner, it's better than nowt!

WOW that thing is ‘kin massive!

One of the biggest draws for me buying the Blackvue’s is how discreet they are once fitted!

There are at least 100,000 different tat bazaars making and selling the above model, they are very popular with the Russian consumers who have to have a dash cam by law. Quality varies from not bad to awful; but what do you expect for a tenner??

The REALLY cheap ones have red LEDs instead of the proper infra red ones - THEY bugger up night vision on the camera if they cannot be switched off.

Yeah Ian that's the issue with the really cheap ones they put red LEDs and not proper infa red and then you get the reflection , mine works perfect at night no glare
