best fabric cleaner

Featured Replies

Can anyone recomend the best cloth cleaner for the cream half leather half cloth seats in an 04 plate vrs? Mine are getting pretty bad and in some desperate need of tlc

I've just picked up some spray on foam at local garage to clean my black fabric seats. If it works I will let you know. As for cream leather/fabric, I would not start there. May be beyond DIY if stained.

I've always had good results with carpet cleaner. Just any old stuff will do.

I don't like the foam stuff.

If it's not too bad put a decent amount of carpet cleaner in a warm bowl of water and using a microfibre cloth wipe down the seats. Keep the cloth wet.

Then get a clean bowl of warm water and wipe them down with a damp cloth. Brought my seats up like new when I did them last time.

I also used to clean very mucky leather the same way then treat with leather cream.

Nice one, i'll give it a go and let you know how it goes

I tried Decosol spray on foam yesterday evening. Shifted most of the grot from the drivers black seat base using a damp micro fibre cloth- but there  is still a faint tide mark around the most contaminated area. I’ll give it another go. The passenger’s seat looks OK. I’d still be doubtful about cleaning cream cloth using this method.

I've found in the past that a carpet shampoo machine works wonders.

The handheld attachment that sprays hot water/detergent and simultaneously vacuums it up lifts deep down dirt you didn't even know was there, leaving an as new look.

Best done in the summer weather as the inevitable but slight dampness left will dry quickly and not create unpleasant smells.

Well worth hiring a machine if you don't own one.
