Headlight live wire colour

Featured Replies

Evening all

im in the process of fitting drl's but im puzzled on the auto turn off.Aparantley i have to join the whitw wire to the headlight live? but ive no idea which that is

It's the yellow/red wire coming out of the light switch. The headlights themselves have two circuits (dip & main beam), so you can't pick it up at the headlight itself.

Mmm i looked yesterday & there doesnt seem to be a yellow & red wire

The wire runs between the light switch (pin 4) and the LH stalk.

Pull out the headlight switch - it's coming out of pin 4.

With headlight switch off, push in the knob in and turn to the right. Whilst holding the knob in that position, pull it forward and the switch will come out.

There isn't one in the engine bay - you have to run one from the light switch.

Bugger ok thankyou for your help,Would there be an alternate in the engine bay?

If you have a multi meter remove the connector from the back of the sidelight and see which wire shows 12v when you turn on the sidelights. then just connect to the wire to the wire going to that pin
