Hi,

I'm after some info on my Felicia to be honest. I have a 'p' reg and love the car to bits but i have developed a problem that may mean the end of the road for me and my skoda.

The car will start and idle no problem at all but when i de-press the accelerator the engine just cuts out. It is obviously fuel starvation and i have taken it to three garages including a registerd skoda dealer.

The dealer told me that it was the throttle potentiometer and on a car of this age would need me to replace the whole throttle body, this was going to cost in the region of

dodgy MAf sensor not detecting the increase in air flow when you open the throttle and therefore not enough fuel being given to match the extra air??

Felicia doesnt use a MAF so its not that.

You dont mention any fault codes?

Sounds alot like a crank sensor to me, or maybe the throttle body needs setting.

Is it a 1.3 or 1.6?

The crank was checked by a mechanic and cleard ok.

When you say the throttle body needs setting hows it done?.

The cars a 1.3 i have checked the paper work for fault codes from the skoda

garage and cant find any.

map sensor is the Manifold-Air-Pressure sensor it is located on the inlet manifold just behind the throttle valve, hope this helps cheers k.
