Suspension

Featured Replies

The estate has stiffer rear springs than the hatch.

Diesels have stiffer springs than petrols.

I don't think there are two 'grades' of suspension damper though.

There are:

 - Std

 - Sport

 - 4x4 (This may or may not be the same as scout)

Which Alloys do you have? They look like 16" vega in your picture. If they are, it's likely (but not certain) you wll have std suspension.

If you want to spend more and get a great ride, look at bilstein.

If you want to spend less, go to a main dealer and ask for the VW economy parts as they are a lot less than the ebay parts there.

Some digging on my part when I was looking suggested that they may even be made by that company, although it's always a decent parts company regardless of who it is.

Yes they are 16" vega's, would a Skoda dealer be able to order the VW economy parts?

Yes, I forget the code, but I think they start with something other than the usual part code (JZW on the site below)

They are available for the Octavia Mk II and were very cheap.

If you're doing the suspension, do the top mount bushes and also the bump stop rubbers too.
