Water on kick plate

Featured Replies

When you open the passenger door after its rained or the car has been washed there is water sat on the kick plate. Can't see no holes in the door to let any gunk out. Are they hidden in the seal along the bottom of the door?

There are drain holes along the underside of the door somewhere as when I open my door after washing I can see the water running out!

Could it be the door seals, these are well documented for holding water?

This is from the Fabia forum but it has some good pictures and the symptoms are the same...

Hmm if anyone has any pics that would help. I have seen on the Rapid section that grease / wax gets lodged in there

Had this issue with the spare wheel well filling with water. Just made some extra holes in the seal on the underside and has been dry for 7 months

Does it matter in any real sense? Is the water causing damage to any other parts? The drain holes are easy to see. They may have wax in then which is easily cleared. If the sills are wet they are working!
