Upgrading sound system

Featured Replies

Hi All,

So I think I have decided to keep the Fabia for another couple of years so wanting to upgrade the speakers.

I have a small sub for the boot already, but wanting to upgrade the speakers front and back.

Anyone recommend a good upgrade. Not wanting run another amp or anything OTT. Just a good increase over standard to compliment the sub.

What sizes do I need to? :D

Cheers,

hi mate, the size you need is :

front 6.5 inch

rear 4 inch

i have been looking on these:

although don't forget you need the speaker adapter to fit them some speakers won't have the clearance in depth to fit, and the wiring harness of ebay which costs about 3 quid

Sounds good to me back in the day I had an Alpine set up so makes sense to go back to it!

Depending on head unit, I'd say an amp for the front components is a worthwhile option.

Don't bother upgrading the rears.

I will find the spec of the headunit. Think is I dont want amps and subs and what not everywhere ha! Just a better than standard set up for the next few years.

If you don't want to amp the front components then I'd recommend these...

Don't require as much power as some, the passive cross over on component speakers can suck up a little of the power too, so it's worth bearing in mind when choosing them if you’re not amping.

Sound deadening is also a must and is often overlooked! To get the best sound out of the speakers, you don't have to do the entire door, and you can buy a speaker kit which basically includes enough for around where the woofer sits. Makes a noticeable difference in sound quality!

Amp under passenger seat. The carpet's already slotted for the OEM changer install. Quite a lot of space as I have amp + changer under there. :)
