Parking-Assist mirror

The Handbook for my 2011 FL Octavia states that the near-side external mirror will "dip" when reverse is selected and the mirror control knob is

in the "R" position. Does this have to be enabled in the computer settings, or is it an expensive extra?  Thanks.

It should be possible to do this from the handbook instructions, but transpose "R" for "L" when setting the control switch.

(The manual has been translated into English, [sort of.......] but it assumes that you have a L/H drive car..........)

I thought only cars with memory seats had the dipped wing mirrors when reversing?

Not strictly true about the memory seats now, but on a 2011 Octavia it would be correct.

It's also possible to retro fit it, although few have.

To have mirror dip on reverse

Requires Max Door controller and Memory motor in the wing mirror

It requires coding in the door controller and BCM / CCM

and the mirror dial has to be in the L possition

Thanks everybody, but what is BCM/CCM please? Sorry if this a bit basic but I can't work it out! I've always had problems with TLA,s

(Three letter abreviations!)

Dave

BCM = Body Control Module = as found in Facelift Octavia

CCM = Convenience Control Module = as found in Pre-facelift Octavia

either way it controls the comfort functions

You probably don't have a memory mirror or MAX door controller

Thanks a lot, Eddie. I'm always learning something from Briskoda site.

You may have the door contrller since it's the fl model, all depends on the spec.

If you do have the door module you only need the mirrors motor and have it wired up. Normal motor has 3 wires and for dip mirror you have 5 i believe. My mirror motor came off an Audi a6

Most cars will have low version door controllers

Mirror motor has a blue plug with 7 or 8 wires
