Navigon PID problem

Featured Replies

Took the PID and the mount off for a few days, put it back on, car info comes on but does not register anything, radio and media player do not light up. take the PID off the mount and the media player will then light up and play the sd card. I presume that the mount has gone up the creek, but has anyone got any other ideas.

Would anyone nearby to me let me visit them and try their mount to confirm the diagnosis?

I've had this and it was a poor connection.

Just a thought.

And now it works again.

it takes quiet a firm push into the dashboard I find to get a final click.

I've never removed the mount...just the unit and never had any connection problems. The thought being....the mount connection into the dash looks more likely to give trouble than the unit-to-mount connection.

Agree the dash mount doesn't seem too good. It needs a very firm connection. Mines played up a few times due to this. It doesn't like cattle grids either for some strange reason.

It's not the mount to car connection as I had the PID working on its own with music from the SD card but as soon as I connected it to the mount which was not on the car the music stopped. Put the unit back on the car this am and everything worked. Funny connection somewhere, either in the PID or the top of the mount.

So as I read it PID mounted on dash, everything works. PID disconnected from dash but still mount attached, doesn't work. PID disconnected from mount and held in hand music plays from SD card.

If that's how it is then I don't think you have any problems. Maybe you thought you had a glitch but was the unit discharged when you reattached it after a period of non use? It takes a while to fire up again when the battery has discharged. I've had the odd glitch with mine but doing a reset (the reset is on the bottom edge) seems to sort things.

When I first had the problem it would not work on the mount attached to the car other than the sat nav and would not connect to the ecu, the radio or the sd card. When not on the mount it would play the sd card, but would cease to do so as soon as attached to the mount and attaching the mount to the car had no effect. Then, this morning, I attached everything as usual and it all worked.

Seems faulty then, if it continues to give you problems get the dealer to have a look at it.

Working fine now. I've got no comeback as I bought it S/H off ebay some time ago.
