Octavia vRS 0 - 60 time???

Featured Replies

I know Skoda say the (standard) Octavia vRS gets from 0 to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds, but I've read some 0 - 60 times on some web sites that slash this time by over a second.

I've been told by a lot of people, including the Skoda dealer, that Skoda published the time of 7.9 seconds in an attempt to keep the insurance group down.

Have a look at carfolio.com.

This states the time at 6.7 seconds.

Whats everybody elses opinions?????

At Trax last weekend some owners with fairly heavily modified cars were getting close to 7 seconds but couldn't quite break it. That's been the pattern in all the owner testing we've done over the past couple of years. A pro may be able to get slightly better times by being very brutal with the car.

I think you also gotta remember that 7.9 figure is a 0-62mph time, not 0-60.

i would stick to the time of 7.9 tbh. with 180bhp i dont see it being much faster in standard form :)

estate is slower

0-62 is quite a pointless measurement however

Not for the europeans and everybody else in the world, as 62mph = 100kph.

Like the old benchmarks for fuel consumption 56 mph (90kph) and 75 mph (120kph). We are in a minority by having mph.

So if you look at it like that, 0-60mph is the pointless measurement.:D

Do search for posts by me......... Mine was low 6s and high 5s :D

Autosport suspect the car they first figured and got 6.7 seconds had a 225 spec engine in it, because they never matched it with any others after the first batch of press cars...
