Any recommendations for purchase of replacement CV joint kit for my Mk 1 Octavia VRS. Have already checked with EuroC Parts and GSF , a variety of prices but are the CV joints the same on all Mk1 Octavias or does the VRS have a beefed up version?

Used dozens of them without problems and you ddon't need to dismantle the cv off the shaft.

Just grab one from Eurocarparts. Q-Drive are fairly popular, and we've also used GKN in the past. I personally prefer the GKN kits, comes with everything required, and normally come with hard plastic boots rather than rubber ones.
