Also could I also use it for air tools e.g air wrench etc.

Finally what sort of price is good.

I've already done a search and found oil free etc...have no clue waht it means. :o

Phil,

thanks for the offer.

I think though I'd like to go for a working one to begin with as I'm completely new to compressors....I can just imagine now how SWMBO would react to me buying a compressor and then finding out it actually needs fixing.....not good....believe me. ;)

I've seen one for

I've no idea about the specs but did some spraying a few years back - essentially the mixture is so thin that as long as there's adequate pressure to spray water, the paint will flow - just gotta ensure you keep the spray gun clean when not in use to avoid nozzle blockages.

Also, if you're using windy guns etc then you'll need a higher output to achieve higher torques.

The bigger the tank/reservior the better. This means the compressor isnt switching on/off all the time and also, the larger tanked ones tend to have larger pistons so it will be working less hard.

A small tank is what killed the one I have.

You need a regular pressure for spraying, a large tank will help you achieve this too.

Pressure regulators and driers are arailable too but they're expensive.

All air compressors get water in the tank. This can end up coming through the line if you dont have a drier, this *could* be a problem for spraying (it does cause rust in mild steel air pipes)

I used to work in this line, if you phone 01189 864466 Reading Pneumatic Services and ask for Grahame Maker (the boss !!)

He will be able to furnish you with every thing you need to know (and supply/deliver too)
