Son is on way up from reading way and driving his fabia 1.9 tdi with 77k on the clock and all of a sudden the engine management light has come on , car is running fine but he's coming all the way to angelsey and has decided to return home to bordon what could it be ?

Also the coil light is on ?

Could be anything needs to be cheked with a fault code reader to determine exact fault, unlikely to be anything serious if car is running alright.

He nearly stalled it and light came on he's on the way to Windsor to get to a vcds and check it , I thought it may be bunked up egr or similar ?

Right just plugged in to vcds and no error codes ? Wtf ! So now cleared the light and I've told him to get a can of bg244
