What wire is this?

Featured Replies

Got the central locking working fine. Then out of the blue, heavy rain and central locking doesn't work.

Took apart the trim from the bottom of the drivers door side on the floor and the wire was soaked in water. I guess its damaged.

However, I have no idea what this wire is called. Any idea?

Anyone? :(

Is the wire part of the loom shown in the last pic or is it separate?

What colour is it?

It's the same wire, I guess it's a loom then. It's different colors. Would that wire affect the rear drivers door from operating correctly?

if that wire is wet, then chances are the CCM could have also become wet. that wire itself is not likely to be related do the central locking, but the water has got down there through the door at a guess.

Chances are the water has run down inside the door and dropped onto the wires .

So those wires in your pics are not the actual cause, The wire in the door are the cause.

The door should have a plastic membrane on it to stop water getting into car.

I would check the wires and connections to the door regulator are ok and not corroded and or wet.

This guide may help you on how to remove door panel. and also see the connector on the door regulator.
