Touch up paint for Trinity alloys

Recommended Posts

Been needing to touch in a couple of stone chips on our Monte's offside alloys but struggling to find anything suitable.

Read on the forum some stuff from Amazon with paint code F7S Dark Grey was a good match. However the parts book stated the colour was FL8 Black Metallic, although they look more grey to me and not as dark as the similarly described paint finish on the vRS Gigaro rims I've seen at the dealers.

Anyway found a Yorkshire based company advertising on e-bay, that could supply FL8 in a touch up as a base coat, or base coat with separate lacquer; ordered the base coat only.

Have now received the paint in a pot as shown in the add and it appears to be decent paint, although as suspected its a darker colour than the Trinity's and more like the finish I've seen on the Gigaro.

However for touching in small chips then it's fine.

I bought the one off eBay and it was nothing like the Trinity colour, I ended up with a Ford touch up from Halfords which was a better match

Be nice if Skoda would supply their own touch up to match the actual colour of the wheels, or at least provide a reliable paint code/blend to the after market industry, rather than keeping it a secret.

Got mine mixed at Halfords.

Ask for F7S and is a good match. Bought a primer pen/brush there too. Think the paint was around a tenner.

Used it a good few times unfortunately! Struggle to see where the touch has been....so can recommend.
