Luxon wheels

Featured Replies

I have just had the two rear Luxon wheels on my year old Superb Outdoor changed under warranty due to "white worm" around the hubs it looks just like the white worm you get on the badges, presumably caused by water getting under the lacquer. At the first service the garage identified that there were also some small spots on the front wheels but not big enough to change the wheels under warranty but over the last few weeks these spots have spread rapidly and hopefully I will get these changed F.O.C. as well. Question is has anybody else had this problem with Luxon's as it's fine now when Skoda foot the bill but the warranty won't last for ever and I plan to keep the car for a while.

ALL wheels that have a lacquered polish finish will suffer from it, its just a matter of time, once its out of warranty get the refurbished without the diamond cut finish.

Try a search, there are loads of threads on Briskoda regarding the weaknesses associated with polished or diamond cut alloys.

Whilst they look good in the show room and mostly during the warranty period after a few winters they start to look horrible very quickly.

The Gigaro on the Fabia, the Proteus on the Octavia, the Thermisto, Sirius and now Luxon on the Superb are all vulnerable.

The Octavia's Proteus alloys have been around the longest, here is the worst I've seen...
