Have an Octavia Scout 2011 and about to order the Whispbar Aero-X (flush mounted version). I know a few people on here have them..... can any of you measure the available T-rail between the rail fittings for me please?? Have quite a wide roof box with 71 cm between the T-rail fittings so need to make sure I have at least 73 cm of actual rail on both the front and back bars.

You are in luck as I have just fitted mine this morning for a trip to France. The rear is the narrowest but has 750mm of useable track. The front has 15mm more. I position the rear bar to the rear of the centre support. Moving it forwards will give you a few mm more but from what you posted you should be ok.

My box attachment points are a good 150mm further in than the sides of the box. You must have a really wide one if you need that much space.

Thanks for the reply. Roofbox.co.uk have just said outright that the box isn't compatible with these bars........... still don't see how if there is enough rail, but hey-ho, what do I know

Same place. I use a Thule Atlantis box and it fits a treat. The way the bars fit, I could see no issues if the box is wider that the bars as they do sit proud (height wise) of the rails. As long as the mounting points fit the track, it wouldn't matter if the box overhangs.

When I bought some Thule bars from them for a different car, they were adamant that the shorter bars wouldn't fit (I didn't want any overhang). I ordered them anyway and they worked. They seem to go by an approved list and won't recommend anything not on that.
