Tints on sunset glass anyone?

Featured Replies

Has anyone applied tints on sunset glass? I've placed my order with sunset glass option, but the more I look at demo cars with it, the more I'm leaning towards getting the car tinted with a medium dark film, on top of the sunset glass. Don't want the car to look too much of a drug dealer so how much would be appropriate, 20%? If anyone has pictures to share that would be great.

I find standard sunset is enough. It shields valuables from the eye of passers by. You need to look suspicious to actually identify items, if they are brightly coloured use a black cloth,Plus its easy to see through when reversing on dark wet nights. Afraid the only other choice is, look like a drug dealer. But a Skoda isn't their first choice of car, so don't worry you won't get asked for supplies when you stop.

It's more than enough unless you're famous....or a dealer :)

Plus if you get it tinted any darker it really will stand out too much against the lighter front windows and look a bit weird?

If you want dark, get curtains fitted camper van style.

Even on standard tint, a passenger said, has it turned dull out there.... You could enquire about that "one way" film,Get the back done to try it like a commercial van. If no good, take it off, and hope the original tint stays on.

Sunset isn't a film, its in the glass, so tint on top and remove to your hearts content.

Looking at removable shades similar to privacy screen I guess. Could be an option and it too dark I can just remove the screens from the passenger side at least

Wait till you get the car. If you're in the UK I assume you'll be getting it when the dark dingy winters days are here. You won't need them then.

Hey guy's is the front already at the legal limit for shade and what % is the sunset glass, thx nick.

Yes, even adding clear security film on the front is meant to tip them over the scale.

I've got 20% rear tints on my vRS Mk2 without sunset and it's dark to the point you can hardly see stuff on the back seat/boot. IMHO 20% plus sunset would be almost the Limo/Druggie 5% look.
