elephant mod help!

Featured Replies

Did the elephant mod to my vrs today, located the breather filter just to the back off the splash guard and what I think is the power steering pistony thing is this the right place to put it

Also when I took it for a drive and gave it some it smoked like mad, used to smoke a bit under hard acceleration, is this normal after doing this mod?

Going to do an oil change next week and see if that helps it

Shouldn't really effect the smoke out of the exhaust, all it does is stop the mist of oil from the breather sticking to inlet pipe, egr valve and inlet manifold really :)

Prob just coincidence, or you haven't gave it a good blast for a while? ;)

Will see what its like today but I think I could just be the misty oil coming out?:p

When I had mine going into a catch tank and vented out through a breather it smoked like a kettle and spat oil out everywhere

Can't be that now, as your now dropping that on the road to help motorbikers get gravel rash...........

A filter would have been restricting it. Don't forget it's ment to be on the turbo intake pipe which also sucks air in. By removing the suction and reducing the flow with a filter will cause problems.

Will leave the filter off in that case, need to find a proper way to run the pipe now

The only proper way is into a catch tank or better still a separator :)

Mine has been smelling badly the last few days, had passengers asking what the burning oil smell is. I guess I'm not normally stuck I traffic so never notice.
