Old? chrome wheel cover

Found buried in a box of car bits I bought but im not a VW person so up for sale.
I presume its of a old VW Bettle or camper? Heavy, pictures pretty much show condition. Would look good hanging up in a garage.
No part numbers visable so presume is old?

Not that old; 1970s style T1 or T2 cover.

An enthusiast would get them re-chromed to restore to original glory..

All things are relative; the 1930s "KDFWagon" and 1940s T1 both had covers, but a larger diameter and smoother domed style. So "that old" was in the T1's production history which is about as long as my parents' age (maybe your grandparents'?).
