best elephant mod pipe

Featured Replies

Hi all

I recently bought a 1 metre length of 19mm ID marine fuel line to use for an elephant mod, as I'd been told that fuel line would be best as it doesn't get degraded by the oil vapour over time.

However, the outer wall is way too thick to get on to the rocker cover, I can get it onto the first little notch but no further.

should I buy a different pipe or should I just try and squeeze mine onto it (with heat or other methods)?

also what pipe is everyone else using?

thanks

Ryan

Heater Hose!

Degradation does not matter - it's venting, not carrying fluid.

Soak the end in boiling water till its soft enough to push on ;)

I'm using 19mm id ash hose, made my setup with 19mm OD steel pipework as well.

Thanks for all the response guys

I think I'm gunna try the soaking in hot water trick first just to get it working. Then work at something more elaborate, with separator and catch can etc later on

Good God, that's a mammouth set up. Hats off.

Haha thanks, it's majour overkill from what used to be a meter long piece of 22mm ID hose straight to the floor.

It was done as part of my project for the engine bay, making it look like small boost pipes to match my new ones.

I'll be making kits the same and selling them on in the future. Will be about £50 though.
