Have a 55reg VRS fabia, and I'm looking to change the headlights.

a.) how do I know what type of bulb I need (manual is no help) either h7 or d2s

b.) can anybody recommend replacements? Street legal please

H7 for standard halogens, d2s are the xenon replacements I believe?

Cheers, as my headlights are like candles in jam jars, am I right in assuming that I have the standard halogens?

My previous car had xenon's,but you could tell as it had the additional headlight washers

If your headlights haven't got the projector dome inside them, then you have halogen headlights. They use H7 bulbs for dipped beam and H3 bulbs for full beam.

 

If you do have projector headlights, then you need D2S bulbs for the dipped beam and H7 bulbs for the full beam

Yep, H7 for dipped and H3 for main and fogs.

 

As for bulbs, Osram NightBreaker Plus (now Unlimited) or Philips X-treme Vision are very good and recommended by many people. I'd also recommend buying them from Powerbulbs, I've used them a few times and had great service. If you search you may find discount codes from them.
