fabia vrs window madness...

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, i need some help here please.

My fabia 2010 vrs electric windows are going up and down on their own and then not working at all for a bit before opening or closing by themselves again? example... i was on the motorway at 70 and all of a sudden the passenger window clonked as if it was going up then went right down, then wouldnt do anything for 20 -30 seconds. not what you want in the rain.

any ideas?

thanks

nick.

You need car electrician to diagnose the problem really. To me it looks like switch or relay shorting. Not pleasant on a motorway on a rainy day indeed!

Sounds like it could be connected to the anti-pinch function?

Agreed, sounds like the auto-retract function built in to stop people trapping themselves in the windows. i take it from your post that its both the passenger / driver side windows doing it and not just one side?

I had something similar to this. I rang my local dealer who told me to get a damp cloth and a smallish flat head screwdriver, and give the inside of the window rubber a good clean as the sensor might be picking something up. After a couple of goes it worked a treat...

I did what milkybarkid did and it worked I also did the master reset with the key fob , hold the open button until the windows went completely down and then held the lock button and the windows were fully closed wallah!

Had similar with an old BMW in the late 90's, turned out water was getting in a connector plug in the wiring harness somewhere and shorting this out.
