fix or flaunt

Featured Replies

I believe that prior to rejection they have to be given the chance to rectify an issue, as they have offered to do this then I guess you'll have to give them the chance.

I think you pretty much have to give them the opportunity to fix it. It might even affect your small claims action if you don't. I'd check with your local Trading Standards they'll give you the right information.

If it's fixed and running it might be better to trade in and cut your losses.

Talk of getting bailiffs etc to recover money form a dealer is much easier to say than do.

One other option is to find a cheaper mechanic to do the work.

We don't know much about the car what year condition o how much you paid.

If you got it cheap then it may be worth spending the money on it to get it fixed.

I would think if you shop around then for the head gasket and a re-con Turbo should be no more than £1000-1200.

The head gasket cant be too bad or it would have over heated and if it needs a head there are plenty being broken.

I dont think they would repair, i was thinking k seal for gasket and sell as sold as seen

Its actions like that, that give private sellers in the car market a bad name.....

It may as well read "Hide the problem, and screw over some hapless sod who doesn't know better" - Sold as seen means nothing in a private sale anyway, since Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) applies to all private sales.
