Engine codes and wheel sizes for the Fabia III published

Featured Replies

Looking through Skoda Germany's latest list of approved tyre and rim sizes I noticed they are listing the Fabia III.

  • Note the model code (5J) remains the same.
  • The type approval also stays the same and rolls on from the current Fabia II.
  • There are six engine codes at launch.
  • Tyre and rim sizes listed match those currently used on the Rapid.

Further googling about found the following on the engine codes;

CHYA - 1.0 12v, 44kw (also fitted to CityGo, Polo etc.)

CHYB - 1.0 12v, 55kw (also fitted to CityGo, Polo etc.)

CJZD - 1.2TSI 16v, 81kw (also fitted to Polo)

CUSB - 1.4TDI 12v, 66kw (also fitted to Polo)

CJZC cannot find but obviously another new generation 1.2TSI, most likley the 66kw in the Polo (CJZA, 63kw and CJZB, 77kw 1.2TSI in Octy III, with EU5 pollution control)

CUTA also cannot find but likely to be a TDI

Suspect these new generation engines will have to find there way into other models like the Rapid, with the new Euro 6 coming into force for new registrations in a years time; Rapid FL maybe, as it will be getting on for nearly 3 years by then.

Isnt the fact it has the same model code (5j) going to make it awkward to find the right parts? As when im searching for stuff I usually put fabia 5j. Or are the parts going to be transferable? Not really read up on the fabia3 as I cant afford to even look at them. Although from the pics skoda are releasing it looks verry nice for a cheap hatchback.

Would suspect parts will be variations on those currently used across the Polo, Ibiza, Rapid and Fabia II/Roomster range.

Ok thanks.

I assume these engines in the Fabia III are what were once referred to as EA211 engines then?

That could be interesting...

Yes they are the updated EA211 engines. The petrol 1.2TSI differs from the unit in the Fabia II, Rapid and Yeti by having 16v rather than 8v and the cam chain has been replaced by a belt.

They are also Euro 6, whereas the Octavia III still has the initial Euro 5 versions of this newer engine design.
