Split hose help 1.8T

Featured Replies

I noticed today that the pipe shown in the attached picture has completely split. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what this pipe is, what it is for and if driving with it split is dangerous for the engine? I can't say I've noticed any running issues but I'm not sure how long it has been split!

The pipe that splits into a Y seems in good condition, it is just the one attached to it that is split.

HI its a breather hose for crank case fumes happened to me on my vrs about £40 from skoda I was getting exhaust+ petrol fumes after a long run and then you stop at lights + idle fumes would come into the car and clear when you  start going

better to go down the route of starting to replace them all, the breathers etc. try creation motorsports, its where i got mine from.

Nice one. Will it do any damage driving on it? I've gotta do 100 miles tomorrow!

Will be fine to drive tomorrow.

Good to here. Thanks for the help

Forge/Creation etc do silicone replacements for those pipes which are resistant to perishing, replace with those and forget, Oh I would do the lot though, because once one goes the rest will soon follow!

Another option might be to simplify the system plenty of info on the web about it.

Yep replace with a oil catch can. I have done loads of guides on this. :)
