Is this the right tool?

Featured Replies

Need this tool to take off a vRS alternator pulley, but is it the right one?? Thanks in advance guys

No picture or link.

Don't think that's the right one mate.

Can't work out how to get the link to work but, if you type this, 33 Splines Alternator Clutch Free Wheel Pulley Removal Tool for VW BMW Universal, into the search box on E-Bay it should come up with the right tool for the job.

It doesnt seem right to me as it wont be able to hold the alternator still so it'll just spin the whole lot and not loosen? i may be wrong though!

Ok, I admit it, I'm an old fart, and not up on all this new fangled technology, I can type, there endeth my technological advancement. In small words and sentences describe how you got that link up.....please!!!

Oh BTW, that's the right link to the right tool.

Any time I used it I also used an air gun to get the torque necessary to get it off. You could also try wedging the interior with a screw driver I suppose but you would need to be very careful not to damage anything.

If memory serves you can also put an Allen/Torx key down the middle of the key to lock the spindle, in fact just ignore what I suggested I have now put on my glasses and looked at your original link and that tool looks promising sorry to waste your time mate.
