Bolero software - is downgrade possible?

Featured Replies

My car has an issue playing music from the SD card. It's running sw ver 0435.

There is no such issue when the same SD card is used in a car with sw ver 0421.

The dealer tells me my car has the latest version and unfortunately a downgrade is not technically possible. Anyone know if he's correct, or what the latest version is?

Also can you remind us how to find the software version?

Unfortunately, it isn't as easy as it used to be to change software versions - the SUK technical have to authorise the dealer to do it.

Your best bet is to ask them to file a DISS report and wait for the factory to come back with a solution.

DISS report - is that some kind of improvement request? The dealer is telling me that sw updates are very rare - does anyone know how often they come out on average? Maybe I could just wait until the next release

OP, have you tried looking at other less convoluted solutions such as say

  • formatting the SD card in exFat or Fat32 whichever it's not already formatted in
  • Converting the files to another format from the originals
  • trying another SD card?

DISS report is the dealer logging a fault with the technical department for a resolution.

If they haven't done this it means they have fobbed you off. If there is a software fault and the factory can reproduce it then they will issue a revised software version.

I had to go down this route to get my Start Stop issue fixed.

Sounds like the dealer have just gone with 'Youve got the latest version, we can't do anything' response. Tell them that their response isn't satisfactory and ask if they have logged it with technical as a fault that a resolution currently doesn't exist for.

It was all discussed on another thread - tried option 1 of the above, was just about to consider options 2 and 3 when I found out the card played fine in another car, so I'm presuming there's nothing amiss with my current SD or the files on it at the moment.

Thanks will try that but suspect the dealer response will be similar to :notme: ....which is what I've seen many times in response to any technical question...

You have a fault that is covered by the warranty - stand your ground but be reasonable. If they don't take another look and refuse to log a DISS report then ask them to put that in writing and then open a case with Skoda UK.
