Wich VAG Cars Share 2014 Yeti Suspension?

Featured Replies

As there are no lowering springs available for the 2014 Yeti Greenline yet, I wondered if there was a way around this by fitting springs from the VAG cars wich share it's suspension.

For example these Eibach springs are for a 2012 Golf + 1.6tdi and in theory may fit if the Yeti shares the suspension set up.

Is not the Yeti Greenline 25mm lower anyway?

And, why would you want to lower a Yeti?

It's 15mm lower, main reason is I just think it would look better lower, you don't share that view and that's ok but the thread wasn't asking what people's opinions are on lowering, it's a technical question.

If you want a lower car, why buy a Yeti in the first place?

Isn't this a discussion forum, and therefore things get discussed?

the vw Tiguan is probably closest in terms of actual setup and axel weights I'd guess but from memory, the Eibach -30mm springs I have are also suitable for the Golf 1.6tdi. I'd suggest the best way to proceed would be to contact the likes of Eibach, H&R etc and see what they have in their range that's suitable for the Yeti. :)

Just staying on topic is all, general chat has a forum, that's what I love about Briskoda, a place for everything and everything in its place :)

Good idea, my Skoda dealer have agreed that if they are Eibach's fitted by them then warranty is unaffected.

I'm running KWv3 coilovers on my Race Blue Yeti.

At maximum height it's a 40mm or so drop at the back and 30mm at the front.

No kit was listed for the Yeti so we got Golf mk5 front and Audi Q3/Tiguan rears.

Works a treat.

Before anyone asks why... it's not a normal Yeti.

My normal Yeti is at standard ride height. ;)

Have you checked with your insurance company that they will allow this modification?

Very helpful, thanks Richard, I'm not looking to go the coilover route, just because I want to keep, the warranty. I think I'm on the right path then of identifying the corresponding Eibach parts but developed for other VAG vehicles, I'll let you know how I get on.

I have indeed, always do, as it will be fitted by Skoda and Eibach's are used by Skoda it's not classed as a modification so they said no near to alter the policy.

But to be fair Richard, your Yeti vRS's right height looks spot on IMO.

I wasn't sure at first but I do really like it now.
