Removing the Lower Grill on a MKIII Vrs.....

Featured Replies

Does it just pull out, I'm going to mesh the back to prevent stones hitting the Condensor

Thanks

The lower grill has pretty big holes doesn't it and lower part of the radiator is almost inaccessible to clean unlike my old Octavia II.

It will become a problem here in Australia if you encounter a Locust swarm and the radiator front soon becomes completely clogged.

The usual fix here is to attach a bit of flexible window flywire to the outside of the grill so they hit and fall off or can easily be wiped off.

Ugly but effective and the birds love to eat the fresh Locust remains when you stop.

Not done this on the Octy but is very similar to the Leon - link to instructions here (post #9):

Remember to heat up the plastic with heat gun / hair dryer before you start to prise out as the plastics are brittle when cold. Start by removing from the corners and work into middle.
