Bad Music from Engine Bay Fabia 1.2 HTP

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a fabia 1.2 HTP from the past 3 years and i am really satisfied with the car.

I am facing an issue from the past 2 years and this is what it is:

During my 2nd service i had informed skoda service center that there is a light noise which comes from the engine bay while the car goes over a speed breaker or else if the car is in a 4th or 5th gear for example and the speed is 40KM/HR or neutral and if the car went over an pot hole there is a noise which comes out from the engine bay and now a days there is a noise which comes from the back part of the car or suspension(2 noises).

This noise has been really irritating since the roads here have lots of pot holes(India) and during the 3rd service the service center guys said this is an engine mounting issue, while i asked them to replace it they said it is not under warranty, well i had informed this during the last service but now the blame is on the customer, and i need to shell down for this, but i am not sure if this is the engine mounting/bedding issue rather something lose in the vehicle i feel.

1) Has any one come across this kind of issue before?

2) Can anyone direct me as to how this can be resolved or else is there something else i need to get checked?

3)Should i really change this part or else will it affect any further in my car?

4)Can any one help me out with this and also the price for this part : 6/0199167AA

5) Any suggestions?

There were similar kind of issue in skoda vehicles which i found in other blogs and also have posted it for reference.

I had written to skoda but in vains again- This is what the email states

Dear Sir,

Greetings for the day,

Forwarding the mail once again, in case not received at your end

In continuation to the below mail we would like to keep you informed that we had sent a goodwill request to Skoda Auto for the engine bedding. Viewing the age of the vehicle and the part being a wear and tear part, the goodwill request has been rejected.

Hence we request your approval to replace the part under chargeable basis.

Looking forward for your kind cooperation and understanding

Assuring you the best service at all times

Regards

Shantha
