Running Boards, anyone fitted these?

Featured Replies

I did consider buying them for mine - but then I did hear (from a few people that have them) that 1) they're not actually strong enough to stand on (which makes them fairly pointless) and 2) they knock quite a chunk off your MPG.

So I decided to fit the sill protectors instead:

They are really easy to fit - no drilling required just bolt to the side using existing fittings and a bit of adhesive tape.

May just be a coincidence, but since fitting these I have actually seen a small improvement in my fuel economy.

I really like the look of those, do you have a picture of them on your car?

Those are far more practical and useful than the steps.

The spoiler is from superskoda also.

Personally I think they look great on the yeti I think It completes the look of the car. Probably no use if you are going to be off roading right enough but I think they are very nice.

I'm not sure if there is drilling involved I think there possibly could be.

And they are not really that strong for someone to stand on it holds upto 75kg

More for the style and looks rather than standing on

It would probably be the kids who get the benefit, at 5 & 3 I could see them making a little easier stepping in and out.

If they were useful, they would be on the vehicle from the factory, or at least an option.

I've purchased the Skoda sill protectors instead :)
